Two-Thread Fabric

Two-thread fabrics usually have a thick structure, making them ideal for spring and autumn clothing. They are commonly used in sweatshirts, hooded jackets, tracksuits, and similar garments. They are produced on RL single jersey circular knitting machines, using specific needle and sinker arrangements. The fabric is typically formed by feeding the same needle with two different yarns in terms of count (the surface yarn and the backing yarn). The backing yarn is generally thicker, bulkier, and suitable for brushing (fleece finishing). It is recommended that the backing yarn be twice as thick as the surface yarn to achieve optimal fabric quality.
