Born in 1956 in Ayancık, Sinop, Kemal Yener moved to Istanbul at a young age to work, while continuing his education at Maçka Evening Art School. In 1978, he started his own business by opening a lathe workshop with his brother in Bayrampaşa. In 1980, he entered the marble sector by repairing an Italian marble cutting machine and became the first to produce a local marble cutting and polishing machine in Turkey. In 1990, he founded MKS Marble Cutting and Polishing Machines Ltd., which became a pioneer in its field. After his first export in 1993, he proudly represented Turkey as the only Turkish machinery manufacturer at an international fair in Italy in 2001. Alongside his business success, he became known as a philanthropist through his educational support and social responsibility projects. After his passing in 2012 at the age of 56, his name lives on in the schools he built.
