Our founder, Dr. Engin Pak, decided to start yeast production in 1972 after years of hygienic industrial experience in pharmaceutical and raw material production. Pakmaya’s first factory was established in 1973 in İzmit-Köseköy, beginning with fresh yeast production and later expanding to dry yeast. The company promoted widespread use of commercial yeast in Turkey’s bakery market through extensive nationwide marketing. Starting exports to Iran, Pakmaya now supplies consumers in over 130 countries across 5 continents.
