Altın Safran – Family Heritage in Confectionery Since 1945
The journey of İsmail Hamamcı began in Istanbul in 1945, where he trained with the most skilled confectionery masters of the time to master the art of Turkish Delight making. His remarkable talent and dedication allowed him to learn royal recipes and traditional techniques. After reaching mastery, he moved to Safranbolu and founded Karaağaç Şekerleme, adding halva and jam to the product range.
Passing down the craft through generations, his son Ahmet Hamamcı expanded production, and his grandson Arda Burak Hamamcı further increased production capacity and distribution network, launching the Altın Safran brand from Safranbolu to Istanbul.
Today, with a monthly production capacity of 180 tons, the company produces Turkish Delight and other traditional sweets to the highest hygiene standards, with a team of skilled experts, positioning itself as one of Turkey’s leading brands in the sector.
