As the first and leading company of the Nurol Group of Companies, Nurol İnşaat ve Ticaret A.Ş. was established in 1966 as an international general contracting firm, and since its inception, it has made its mark with large-scale, high-technology projects worldwide. In the 1980s and 1990s, the company focused on “Engineering-Procurement-Construction” turnkey projects, particularly in oil-producing countries, most notably the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, earning a distinguished position among Turkish contractors.

From the 1990s onwards, Nurol expanded into the Russian Federation and Commonwealth of Independent States, becoming one of the first Western companies to operate in Turkmenistan in 1991. In the 2000s, the company concentrated on the Middle East and North Africa while continuing to deliver major infrastructure and superstructure projects in Turkey.

As of 2019, Nurol operates in 15 countries across three continents, with more than 10,000 technical and administrative staff, a robust machinery fleet, strong financing capabilities, and a project portfolio exceeding USD 10 billion. The company holds ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 certifications, adhering to the highest standards in quality, environmental, and occupational safety management.
