Assiut Cement Company, located 400 km south of Cairo, Egypt, operates 3 production lines with a total capacity of 5.7 million metric tons per year after major investments boosted output by nearly 50%.

CEMEX believes business and the environment must go hand in hand. After acquiring Assiut Cement, the plant underwent a full modernization: environmental management systems, advanced filtration upgrades, and state-of-the-art computer-controlled operations were introduced. As a result, dust emissions were reduced from 500 mg/m3 to less than 20 mg/m3, alongside significant gains in efficiency and fuel use.

Beyond emission control, CEMEX has expanded green areas, enhanced workplace aesthetics, and invested in employee training to foster a healthier and more sustainable environment. Today, Assiut Cement stands as a benchmark for quality and sustainability in Egypt’s building materials sector.
