Future Harvest for Food Industries

Future Harvest for Food Industries (FHFI) was established in April 2021 with an investment of around 300 million SAR under a five-year development plan.
It is the first company in the MENA region to apply freeze-drying technology, positioning itself as a hub for research, businesses, and consumers not only in Saudi Arabia but across the entire region.
FHFI plays a vital role in strengthening the food supply chain while aligning with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goals for food security, wellbeing, and sustainability.
Its activities are divided into three main sectors: Research, Consumer, and Business.
Applications of freeze-dried technology cover fruits, vegetables, herbs, liquids, coffee, fermented cultures, ready meals, and even astronaut meals.
The process—also used by NASA’s Apollo program—relies on freezing the product, lowering pressure, and removing ice through sublimation.
This ensures that products retain up to 97% of their nutritional value, taste, texture, size, and color compared to other preservation methods.
Freeze-dried products can be stored at room temperature, are extremely lightweight, have a shelf life of up to 15 years, and are easy to reconstitute compared to other drying methods.
