As the first and leading company of the Nurol Group of Companies, Nurol İnşaat ve Ticaret A.Ş. was established in 1966 as an international general contracting firm, and since its inception, it has made its mark with large-scale, high-technology projects worldwide. In the 1980s and 1990s, the company focused on “Engineering-Procurement-Construction” turnkey projects, particularly in oil-producing countries, most notably the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, earning a distinguished position among Turkish contractors.

From the 1990s onwards, Nurol expanded into the Russian Federation and Commonwealth of Independent States, becoming one of the first Western companies to operate in Turkmenistan in 1991.
